The Launch
The Launch is one of my favourite places to eat. There is something for everyone. I especially like the goat cheese salad, their breakfast and pancakes. The view of the sea and beach is a wonderful bonus.
The Launch is een van mijn favourite plaatsen om te eten. Er is iets voor iedereen. Ik vind de geitenkaassalade, hun ontbijt en pannenkoeken heel lekker. Het zicht over de zee en strand is een mooie bonus.
Eetcafe Het Kleine Regthuys
Adrie of Eetcafe Het Kleine Regthuys is a fantastic cook. His restaurant on the square with the fountain was very popular but not ideal if it rained. That is why he now has Het Kleine Regthuys so you can sit inside as well. The portions are very big and the food delicious. Adrie’s chicken satay is wonderful.
Adrie van Het Kleine Regthuys is een fantastische kok. Zijn restaurant op het plein met de fontijn was heel populair maar niet ideaal als het regende. Daarom heeft hij nu Het Kleine Regthuys zodat je ook binnen kan zitten. De porties zijn heel groot en het eten heel lekker. Adrie’s kip sate is heerlijk.
La Taberna K Pasa
This is a great place, especially if you want something quick. I always sit at the bar, point at some delicious tapas and ask for a house wine. Their wines are delicious. It is a very sociable place and I always meet new people. The chef owner is Spanish and maitre d’ his Dutch wife so you have the best of both worlds.
Dit is een fantastische taverne, vooral als je vlug wilt eten. Ik zit altijd aan de toog, wijs naar lekkere tapas en vraag naar een huiswijn. Hun wijnen zijn heerlijk. Het is een heel vriendelijke tapasbar en ik leer er altijd nieuwe mensen kennen. De spaanse eigenaar is de kok en zijn nederlandse vrouw de maitre d’ zodat je het beste van 2 werelden krijgt.
Bistro Belgica
Bistro Belgica is my Belgian local bar and bistro. Danny has been running the bar for a few years now and has added more food to the menu. You can enjoy many Belgian beers and food. Belgian places are usually on the expensive side but Danny has kept the prices very reasonable. It is not a surprise that Bistro Belgica is very popular.
Bistro Belgica is mijn belgisch stamcafe en bistro. Danny heeft de bistro al voor een paar jaar en hij heeft meer eten op de menu gezet. Je kan er genieten van Belgische bieren en lekker eten. Belgische restaurants zijn meestal aan de dure kant maar Danny heeft de prijzen heel redelijk gehouden. Het is geen verrassing dat Bistro Belgica heel populair is.
Chiringuito El Lele
This beach bar is still an authentic Spanish family chiringuito. The granddad used to usher people in from the promenade. Behind the bar are several generations. I always sit at the bar and have some of their tapas with a cold beer and finish with a coffee. The beach bar is the closest to Santa Ana and Apartamento Ana so it is easy as well.
Deze strandbar is nog altijd een authentieke spaanse familiezaak. De grootvader lokte mensen binnen vanop de boulevard en achter de toog staan verschillende generaties. Ik zit altijd aan de toog, bestel wat tapa’s met een biertje en een koffie achterna. Deze chiringuito is het dichtste bij Santa Ana en Apartamento Ana dus het is ook nog eens gemakkelijk.
Mg Jamon
The prices at Mg Jamon are ridiculously cheap for a place opposite La Carihuela Beach. Everything seems to be 1 EUR, even the toasted ham and cheese sandwiches. There is no table service. You have to order at the very beautiful, authentic Spanish bar. This place gets very busy so finding a seat is sometimes a challenge.
De prijzen bij Mg Jamon zijn ongelofelijk laag voor een bar tegenover het strand in La Carihuela. Alles schijnt 1 EUR te kosten, zelfs een croque monsieur. Er is geen tafelservice. Je moet alles bestellen aan de heel mooie, authentieke spaanse toog. Het is er meestal erg druk en een lege tafel vinden is soms moeilijk.
La Zoca
La Zoca lies two doors away from Santa Ana. It is a typical Spanish fish restaurant run by a family. They have a “menu del dia” at lunch times. In the evenings they get very busy so it is worth booking. You have to try their paella.
La Zoca ligt twee deuren van Santa Ana. Het is een typisch Spaans visrestaurant. Het is een familiezaak. Tijdens de middag hebben ze een “menu del dia”. ‘S avonds kan het heel druk zijn en is het beste dat je boekt. Je moet zeker de paella eens proberen.
