The bus stop in La Carihuela which I always use is very easy to find. It is on Avenida Carlota Alessandri, the main road from Torremolinos to Benalmadena. If you go to Hotel Las Palomas and take the road up, you will see it on your left when you get to the main road. The bus stop in the other direction is on the opposite side of Avenida Carlota Alessandri. The bus service is excellent, reliable and extremely cheap. You buy a ticket on the bus. You can only buy a single ticket. Be aware that you might have to buy your return ticket at a ticket office in other places, i.e. Malaga for instance.
For longer journeys, I recommend taking coaches from Torremolinos or Malaga coach station which links Spanish cities. Again, Spanish coaches are very cheap and easy.

De bushalte in La Carihuela die ik altijd gebruik is heel gemakkelijk te vinden. Het ligt aan Avenida Carlota Alessandri, de hoofdweg tussen Torremolinos en Benalmadena. Als je naar Hotel Las Palomas gaat en de weg omhoog neemt, zie je de bushalte aan je linkerhand als je aan de hoofdbaan komt. De bushalte in de andere richting bevindt zich aan de andere kant van Avenida Carlota Alessandri. De busdienst is uitstekend, betrouwbaar en heel goedkoop. Je koopt een ticket op de bus. Je kan alleen maar een enkel reis kopen. Houd er rekening mee dat je mogelijk je terugreisticket moet kopen aan een loket op andere plaatsen, zoals Malaga bijvoorbeeld.
Voor langere reizen raad ik aan om touringcars te nemen vanuit de busstations in Torremolinos of Malaga die Spaanse steden met elkaar verbinden. Spaanse touringcars zijn erg goedkoop en gemakkelijk.
